Accept Payments at the Point of Registration

Charge for events, applications, memberships, services, or premium access right on your registration form. URM connects with Stripe, PayPal, Authorize.Net, and Mollie so users pay and register in a single step.

Why Separate Checkout Pages Cost You Revenue

Every extra step between a user filling out a form and completing a purchase is a chance for them to drop off. When registration and payment are the same step, there’s no gap for second thoughts.

Registration then checkout:

  • User fills out the form, then gets redirected to a payment page
  • Many drop off between registration and checkout
  • You end up with incomplete registrations and no payment
  • Requires a separate e-commerce or payment plugin

Registration + payment with URM:

  • Payment happens on the same form, in one flow
  • Account is only created after successful payment
  • Automatic payment confirmation email on success
  • No separate payment plugin or WooCommerce needed

Supported Payment Gateways

Connect the gateway your customers already trust. Each one is a separate add-on you activate alongside URM Pro.

Stripe
Stripe
Card payments, Apple Pay, Google Pay. Widely used globally, low fees, instant account activation.
PayPal
PayPal
Trusted by millions. Users can pay with their PayPal balance or a saved card without entering card details.
💳
Authorize.Net
Preferred by US-based businesses. Supports recurring billing and is widely accepted in regulated industries.
💰
Mollie
Popular in Europe. Supports iDEAL, Bancontact, SEPA, credit cards, and more — ideal for European audiences.

How to Set Up Registration with Payments

You’re a few steps away from a registration form that collects money and creates accounts in one go.

  1. 01

    Activate the Payment Add-on

Install your chosen gateway add-on (Stripe, PayPal, Authorize.Net, or Mollie) from your URM Pro dashboard and enter your gateway API credentials in the URM payment settings.

  2. 02

Add a Payment Field to Your Form

In the form builder, drag the payment field into your form. Set the payment amount — either a fixed fee or a user-selectable amount — and choose your currency.

  3. 03

    Configure Payment Behaviour

Set what happens on payment success — redirect URL, confirmation email content, and which user role to assign. Failed payments prevent account creation automatically.

  4. 04

    Publish and Go Live

Embed the form on any page. Users fill in their details, enter payment information, and click Submit. The account is created only after the payment clears.

Real-World Use Cases

Any time you need both registration data and payment in one go, this is the feature to reach for.

Events
Paid Event & Conference Registration
Charge a registration fee when someone signs up for a workshop, seminar, or conference. The account is created and the ticket confirmed only after payment succeeds.
Memberships
Paid Membership Signup
Charge a joining fee or first month’s subscription at the point of registration. New members pay and get access in one flow — no separate billing step.
Education
Course Enrollment Fees
Online academies and tutoring platforms collect enrollment fees when students register. Payment gates access to the course content automatically.
Services
Service Booking & Onboarding Fees
Agencies, consultants, and freelancers collect a setup or deposit fee when a client creates an account. Registration and onboarding payment happen in the same form.
Hiring
Application Processing Fees
Schools, visa services, and competitive programs charge a non-refundable application fee at signup. Unpaid applications are never created in the system.
Sports & Clubs
Sports Club & League Registration
Leagues and clubs collect player registration fees, kit deposits, or annual dues when a new member joins — all tied to account creation in WordPress.

Frequently Asked Questions

Have more questions? These FAQs might help

Is the user account created if payment fails?

No. The WordPress user account is only created after the payment is confirmed as successful by the gateway. A failed or declined payment will not create an account. The user sees an error and can try again.

Can I charge different amounts for different registrations?

Yes. You can set a fixed amount or allow users to choose from options you define. Different registration forms can charge different amounts — your event form might charge $50 while your membership form charges $99.

Does URM take a cut of payments?

No. URM charges no platform fee or transaction percentage. You pay your gateway’s standard processing fees (e.g. Stripe’s flat rate) and keep everything else. There are no hidden fees from the plugin.

Do I need WooCommerce to accept payments?

No. URM’s payment add-ons are completely independent of WooCommerce. You just need URM Pro and the gateway add-on of your choice. No e-commerce setup, no product pages, no cart.

Can I send a receipt email after payment?

Yes. URM sends an automated confirmation email on successful payment. You can customise the email subject and body with smart tags to include the user’s name, amount paid, and other submitted data.
